A classic, gritty stadium with a lot of bars and memorabilia stores in the surrounding area.  One of the neat things about the stadium is that you can walk out onto a closed off street that has a bunch of memorabilia and novelty stores that stay open through the game.

Unfortunately, the food is horrendous.  The options are very limited and I could not find a healthy food stand anywhere.  I couldn't walk around the entire stadium because the Green Monster is closed off to those without tickets to that part of the stadium.

General Comments
I decided to kick off the project at Fenway Park, an iconic and gloriously old stadium.  The nice thing about visiting all of these cities is that you get the chance to reconnect with friends and family who you haven't spoken to or seen in years.  I spent the weekend with a close friend from college who is now working for a microchip design firm along the engineering corridor outside of Boston.  We walked around Boston a lot, experienced the joys of Green Line metro and met up with a close friend of mine from my hometown in Central New Jersey.  The three of us met in front of TD Garden (home of the Celtics and Bruins), went to a golfing range in suburbs and then went back into the city to check out Boston's north end.  On Sunday night, my college friend and I went to trivia night at a local bar, came in third and won a bottle of wine.  No big deal.

And It Begins ...

As a big baseball fan and an even bigger fan of all things travel-related, I had been mulling the decision to pursue one of my life goals: watching a baseball game at each of the 30 Major League Baseball ballparks in one season.  It was not until mid April of this year, while watching a single A baseball game during an early spring evening that I finally decided to take the plunge, no turning back.  And here we go ...
